  • Is die cast plastic?

No, die-cast metal is not plastic. Die-casting is a manufacturing process where molten metal, such as aluminum, zinc, or magnesium, is injected into a mold under high pressure to create precise, complex parts. These metals are durable, strong, and have properties like high strength-to-weight ratios and corrosion resistance, as mentioned earlier. Plastic, on the other hand, is a synthetic polymer material that can be molded (e.g., via injection molding), but it’s entirely different in composition and properties, being less strong, non-metallic, and typically less heat-resistant. While both processes involve molding, die-cast parts are metal, not plastic.
