Zinc die-cast metal, commonly used in mini die-cast construction sets, is non-magnetic and will not stick to a magnet. Zinc is a non-ferrous metal, meaning it lacks significant iron content, which is necessary for magnetic attraction. Most die-cast alloys, like Zamak (a zinc-based alloy with small amounts of aluminum, magnesium, and copper), are also non-magnetic. If your set is made of zinc or a typical die-cast alloy, it won’t be attracted to a magnet. If it does stick, the set may contain ferrous metals like steel or iron instead.
