  • What is a short shot in injection molding?

A short shot in injection molding is a common defect where the molten plastic fails to completely fill the mold cavity, resulting in an incomplete or partially formed part with voids, thin sections, or unfilled areas, often at the end of the flow path.

This can occur unintentionally due to factors like insufficient injection pressure, low material temperature, or restricted flow paths in the mold.
